In tanks with heavy SPS, clam or coralline populations, magnesium will often be used up faster than regular water changes can keep up with. Since magnesium is critical to coral/clam growth and to alk/Ca balance, it is wise to test a couple of times a month. I’m surprised that there is no mention of magnesium.
