We first reported the Hydor Wavemaker 2 back in Febuary 2008 including video, fast foward about 4 months and Hydor has finally got around to releasing the Hydor wavemaker 4, which as the name suggests allows you to control 4 pumps. In addition to adding 2 additional pumps over their standard wavemaker 2, they are also adding a night mode which also states that there is an optional photo sensor which we have yet to hear anything about. In addition to this you now have a food mode which does as what most food modes do, stop the pump for a period of time. Unlike the Wavemaker 2, the new wavemaker 4 has a LCD screen (sweet!) so you can adjust or set programs to your liking, including which pump and speed (nice!). No word on price but we expect this to be under $200. The hydor wavemaker 4 is branded under Hydor’s “Professional Marine equipment” line which includes the performer protein skimmers and calcium reactors.
