		<description>It is my understanding that iron in typical glass gives it it&#039;s strength so when you make low iron glass for aquariums, the glass has to bt a little bit thicker to compensate for the reduced strength. The optical grade glass in glasses and various &#039;scopes is not usually subject to stress or pressure so they can take a much higher percentage of optical impurities out of the glass.</description>
