While most of us use 1990’s generation par meters Apogee decided to get serious about a Par meter. We had a rare chance to test drive one of their newest units. The par meter measures photosynthetic photon flux, instantaneous and daily totals. It contains enough memory to have 99 stored data points and the par meter has a spectral resposivity range of 360 to 670 nm which means a lot to light scientists out there. Besides being one of the slickest units, it looks like an iPod, you can pick this par meter up for $349. This guy is so new it hasn’t officially been released yet, but then again that’s why you read us right? You can go click on the read link for additional pictures.

Hey Ryan, how is it that you had my christmas bonus sent to your house?
FYI, the meter is on sale until the end of the year for $249.
Also, Apogee is still making the USB cable that will allow you to download the data directly to your PC (or MAC).
