The Fluval Edge Aquarium has landed here in the United States. The details we have so far confirm that this is a new series of aquariums that will be launched by Fluval seeking to satisfy the rimless craze that is taking hold of the world. This is a completely new direction taken by fluval and not as rigid and standard looking as other aquariums past. The tagline of “Add design to your lifestyle” is being used with this new aquarium series. You probably haven’t seen Fluval Aquariums as they are more popular in the UK and Europe. We don’t have an ETA of this new series but the box, which we assume to serve as the filtration/lighting comes in 3 colors, silver, black and walnut. Pricing, gallons, or other important items such as lighting are all up in the air at this point.

Now this is an absolutely awesome tank!

It’s modern, and I love the design and the fact you don’t
see anything.

when is it coming Toronto?

hats off to the manufacturer!

It’s interesting but will fail in the market of planted tank and reef keepers due to impractical design. From PFK article…

“Unusually, the 23 litre tank has a partially-sealed lid, and access is obtained via a small port beneath the lighting box, which houses two low voltage halogen lamps. The aquarium is designed to be filled to the brim, so the water touches the top glass.”

Besides access, it’s likely that the lighting will be inadequate and near impossible to retrofit. Sadly, this will be probably become another work of art that piddles out quickly, only to be found in a few overpriced homes filled with plastic plants.
