reef-keeper-lite

The reefkeeper lite has been out for a little while now and it is surprising to us that we haven’t seen many shots of it in the wild. This shot which gave us the chuckles, is positioned in place by yes, you guessed it: push pins. Interestingly we have rumors that a new firmware update is about to hit the Reef Keeper lite and that’s not all, a rumored price decrease could be in the works as well. Our guess would be sometime in mid June. Just how much of a price decrease remains to be seen, but that is something you’ll never hear us moan about.

Pricing has been announced… $99.99 for the RKL L1! (Starting by 06/05/09)

This is the first real controller priced under a hundred dollars! The RKL L1 head unit is the same head unit that comes with the RKL L3 and has all the same capabilities. The only difference is that come with a single PC4 and a temp probe. This little starter system can control lighting, heater/chillers, wavemakers, and more. When you want (or the budget allows) to grow the system, simply plug the new module into the bus and you’re off and running! The only thing “Lite” about this package is the price!

Background: We’ve wanted to make this happen for a while now. We were able to works some deals with different people that gave us the ability to pass some great savings on to our customers – as we’ve always tried to do! This deal is planned to run for 3 months, as our contribution to a reef keeping stimulus package. :) In all seriousness, it’s my hope to keep this as the new regular price for the RKL L1. It’s an incredible system that was a good deal at $149 and now is even better at $99.99!

As always, contact us if you have any questions!
