This reminds me of ADA’s glassware. You could probably DIY one out of a large test tube or something.

It might be very difficult for DIY. I read an article that only few people in Japan can make these mame skimmer by GLASS. According to the mame HP, this skimmer can handle up to 30Gal, but it might be less. The price is less than $90.
