Aqua Medic’s new Ocean Prop 15000 is a new water pump and like the name implies is prop based. We suppose it was only a mater of time before Aqua Medic jumped on the prop bandwagon, it does make sense though, higher efficiency with more water pushing is a win/win for all of us that keep reef tanks. “OceanProp 15000 is a propeller pump that creates a high turnover of water with a low power output. The shape of the propeller has been strategically designed using the latest technology to optimize water movement and silent operation. Combined with the pump controller PropControl, the pump can be operated by pulsing and creates continuously changing currents.” The Ocean Prop 15000 is a 3 bladed prop pump that is 24vDC. If you notice the unique levered suction cup that we haven’t seen anywhere else. The flow can be adjusted from 5,000-15,000 l/h (1300-4000 gph), while using up between 9-20 watts. There will be a controller that is packaged with this new prop pump that can been seen after the break. Sadly, this is a Europe only product for now, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised if this happened to land in the UK first then the US following shortly thereafter.

Even though its EU only for now… it doesnt really matter since its 24V DC. Just pick up a converter. Those efficiency numbers look like they give Tunzes and Hydors a run for it though… very nice.
The body on this pump looks a lot like the Rio prop pump, the levered suction cup is nice, if it really works and lasts.
“if it really works and lasts”
Looks like another relabeled chinese product
According to the owner’s manual (http://www.aqua-medic.de/en/service/pdfs/Ocean%20Prop-e.pdf) the transformer included is 100–240V, 50–60Hz so it should work in US out of the box.
Does anyone reckon it looks like the new SEIO 530 PROP pump?

Amashum, that’s what I was trying to say with my first comment. The similarity is undeniable but hopefully it’s only a superficial resemblance and there’s some differences under the hood. Anyone know if the Seio Prop pump has a 3 bladed propeller?
