If a company can reduce cost it is not unheard of for them to reduce the overall price of their product, in tough economic times like this, manufactures can come out on time by providing the best product at the best price. If they position themselves correctly in these times with superior product and the best price, they will get an even better reputation and sell more units overtime then their competitors. I would not be surprised if they decided to open a plant overseas to develop more product at a lower cost so they can past on the saving to consumers. “I wonder why TECO have to discount their chiller IF they work very well?”
