Digital Aquatics was kind enough to respond to an earlier report about Reef Keeper elite owners not being happy. Of the issues reported, most if not all of them will be fixed in the coming 1.07 update. That update will be available within the next few days. Also too is a much higher update, 2.0 will be released in the fourth quarter of this year. That update should bring a peace and calm among all Reef Keeper Elite’s worldwide. Most users appear to be happy with Digital Aquactics powerful unit, some were distressed when support was moved to their own support site versus having it on a popular unpopular reef forum. No surprise there as most companies prefer their customers contact them directly versus having them go an extra leap to contact them. So what say you? Are you waiting for the 1.07 firmware update, or are you holding out for that 2.0 update? Let us know and respond in comments.

Reef Keeper Elite users are *%#!, want money back

Turns out that Reef Keeper Elite might have been released too soon. Or at least thats what some owners are saying. With a horde of bug problems with the Reef Keeper Elite one owner had this to say: “As far as bug fixes and new modules, it’s a waiting game played a company w/ 3 employees who do the day-to-day support, sales and PayPal accounts receivables. Forget getting a refund at this point, another user was angrily informed that he’s stuck with the unit & the thread was shut down [on their support site]“. Ouch that is pretty tough. It makes you wonder if they should have increased the testing/beta stage of the unit before releasing it to the public. There is always this unit and this one to consider for your aquarium controller. Both are out of the $490 price bracket the Reef Keeper Elite is at, but both manufacturers claim no bugs, or at least that is what Profilux is preaching.

Digital Aquatics will be releasing the RKM-NET module that should allow your Reefkeeper elite unit to connect to the web. It is a ethernet based web server and should be “plug and play”. This will be released after the main reefkeeer elite unit gets released. We did however find the user manual for the RKM-PC4 power outlet here. In addition to the RKM-PC4 we found the RKM-SL1 manual too. Now, if we just could have the actual unit?
