Hold on to your hats kids! Because Tropic Marin’s new media reactor kit is sure to leave you drooling. The kit is a filter block that will slowly bring water in from your aquarium or sump and push through the filter bock.The kit comes either in a “Elmi Control Carbon”, or a Phosphate version as well. “The filter system can be used anywhere in the aquarium or in the filtering sump. It is completely independent of other filtering systems and can fit in a concealed area because of is compact, space-efficient design. The phosphate adsorption media is easily changed: simply replace the depleted cartridge with a new Elmi Control filter cartridge and the systems full efficiency is restored.” The system, which is designed for aquariums up to 160 gallons will be hitting US store shelves soon.  No word on price but we don’t expect this to be that much.

Fresh from Interzoo 2008 a new “high performance” protein skimmers with high build quality. Unlike the other V2 protein skimmers, this is a new nano skimmer for tanks up to 31 gallons. Uses a injection system to create a nice froth of bubbles and water, no release date. A meager one year warranty is offered. Recommended flow rate of approx 720 l/hr (31GPH) . In what seems to be the reef industry trend, Tropic Marine has introduced their new AquaRay LED light bar. With this new unit you should be able to have a nice shimmering effect without having to utilize expensive metal halides. We are also curious how they compare to Current’s power bright LED light bar.
