- Conal | One of the worse things you did was turn off circulation in the tank. Circulation helps with gas exchange and pointing a power head toward the surface will bring in required oxygen. If you don't have a sump to attach a fan on to blow air into the sump water, you will have to use house air conditioning and hood fans.
