Many people do, but I don't like hanging any pump with flexible hose. I always either try to connect them directly with PVC fittings, or if there is no other way and the pump needs to be hung by a hose, I will tie the power cord so that if the pump pulls off it will not fall down to the bottom of the tank and disrupt everything down there. It shouldn't be too difficult to rid up some array of PVC fittings to connect the pump directly to the skimmer. Just make sure that you leave room so you can fit your pump over the rim of the tank while it is installed to the skimmer. |
