Re: Protein Skimmer I had a 55 corner bow with a Seaclown 100. Firstly, it only pulled out watery skimmate, the times that it pulled anything at all. Secondly, like was said the air adjuster was difficult to adjust right and would never stay adjusted for long. Thirdly, said air adjuster assembly broke after 5 months and rendering the whole unit useless as a skimmer and more an air agitator, and lastly, upon cleaning the skimmer itself after a month and a half of service, the elbow seal at the bottom of unit broke when attempting to clean, I fixed it with silicone, but the 2 day wait for the silicone to dry would always stress out my fish and eventually led to less frequent cleaning of said skimmer and you can see why I don't recommend this piece of rubbish. You can get a CSS for about the same cost and that skimmer will at least pull some skimmate. |
