For those of you that don't know, MACNA XIX stands for the 19th annual Marine Aquarium Conference of North America. It is by far the largest educational conference, trade show, and friendly get together dedicated to the marine aquarium hobby/industry in North America. There is no show bigger or better than MACNA. I have attended seven previous MACNA's and can tell you that it is an excellent opportunity to learn, meet famous authors, see exciting new products from the best manufacturers in the world as well as some fabulous livestock, and hang out with fellow hobbyists from all over the world.

This year MACNA will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 14th through the 16th, 2007. As a frequent traveler myself, I can tell you that the Pittsburgh International Airport is great! Clean and spacious with a variety of flights from every major carrier, so getting here should be a breeze. And the actual venue is conveniently located about a mile from the Pennsylvania Turnpike for those of you that are close enough to drive. And best of all the conference registration rates as well as hotel room rates are the lowest they have been for a MACNA in over three years.

We have a number of excellent speakers already confirmed and are aggressively working on others. Here is a current listing:

Adam Blundell
Eric Borneman
Anthony Calfo
Dr. Bruce Carlson
Dr. Stan Dannemiller
James Fatherree
Lee Goldman
Ron Hessing
Kelly Jedlicki
Dr. Sanjay Joshi
Daniel Knop
Sarah Lardizabal
Dr. Frank Marini
Dr. Catherine McFadden
Mike Paletta
Steven Pro
Dr. Ron Shimek
Dr. Rob Toonen

And I am saving the best reason to come to MACNA for last. Reef Builders will have a booth in the trade show, so if you come you can put faces to names and get to meet some of your online friends.
