Re: Acrylic, Glass, Or Polycarbonate?? i would go with acrylic if you want strenght and durability. although if you dont mind the weight just get a glass tank and save yourself a lot of money. I like acrylic but it has a lot of downsides. you must make sure that you get cell cast material so it doesnt craze and yellow with age!! i dont know much about poly but it is very hard to work with and the chemical bond is hard to attain!! it actually doesnt scrath that easily and depending on the thickness can be just as clear as glass. poly is mainly used on aircraft. i dont think you want to spend 20,000 on a 125 gallon aquarium!!! good luck with your decision! |
