Lighting must be matched to the coral you will be keeping. There are a lot of types available: T-5's, metal halide, flourescent compacts, etc.
Macro algae is like plants in that the algae absorbs nitrates. There are several kinds available and people keep this algae in a separate area called a refugium. That is so it can have its own lighting and so its easier to control the growth without impacting the display.
There are a lot of choices for skimmers, pumps, etc. I encourage you to do searches on the internet. |
