look at it this way..you get a couple flame scallops, enjoy them while they are alive(a year is a long time), if they do start to die, your clean up crew will have a field day, and then you'll have a shell to play with and move around in the tank. when my blue clam died it was clean in less than a day, i set it up on a piece of live rock and if i fish gets scared they like to go into it for protection like a lil cave with only 1 way in or out.
