250 gph pump is ok for heater in sump you have to set it higher anyways to get the temp you need in tank plus the more water more noise you have. What size is main tank?
Always use two heaters if it calls for 300 watt get two 150's why if one goes out you have a backup. It happen to me and fish died. And all the persons and books call for two.
