I can only give info on the EcoTech - have them, think they're great. No heat in the tank, very quiet, lots of flow. It creates an undertow and surface movement. Mine are positioned about in the middle of the tank (depth wise, 24" deep) and it pulls water from the bottom and top - creates little whirlpools on the surface now and then. I have 2 and get plenty of flow for my 240. That's my 2 cents!!
