I like the fact that ecotech is magnetic (leaving the moter outside the tank)
and the fact that the multi-controler is wire-less.
Yeah, tough decission. I'm going to settle it with reliability and the ability to get service if repairs are needed.

I can only give info on the EcoTech - have them, think they're great. No heat in the tank, very quiet, lots of flow. It creates an undertow and surface movement. Mine are positioned about in the middle of the tank (depth wise, 24" deep) and it pulls water from the bottom and top - creates little whirlpools on the surface now and then. I have 2 and get plenty of flow for my 240. That's my 2 cents!!
