They say that the Kenya tree is easy to propagate by cuttings. I would just take a large section and cut a good clean swipe with a razor blade, (box cutter) then glue it to a different piece of live rock, close to the top, in a quiet place with little current. Do you have a picture of it? I understand that it is nourished primarily by the photosynthetic products produced by its symbiotic algae. If it is SO big, perhaps it can not feed itself properly. Since it is the photosynthetic species that needs very strong light, perhaps some of its lower brances are in shade and needs to be "halved" or pruned to allow the lower branches to get more light. |
