At some point in the RO process all the dissolved oxygen is taken out (almost making the RO unit too perfect) so by say putting your salt water pump into the bucket with freshwater I believe you would get the same effect. Just my two cents then again I don't even have a tank yet LOL. |
Thelastmucci, this is a another much debated topic in the Reef Keeping community but in all honestly I firmly believe that the benefits of producing RO/DI Filtered Water far outway the drawbacks. I'm not positive since I do not own equipment that is able to measure the dissolved oxygen level of the RO/DI Filtered Water but I'm sure that the Mag-7 Water Pump used to mix Kent Marine Synthetic Sea Salt with the RO/DI Freshwater provides enough surface agitation to reinvigorate the water with enough dissolved oxygen to not create any substantial problems. But like I said I cannot substantiate any of this information without the correct equipment.
P.S. Get a tank already!
