right as always. Also, get ready to have a small tank to breed small snail. if puffers don't have them to grind their theeth on. they grow like hamsters teeth.

Good advice above

My figure 8 will be in my care 1 year and he has never had a tooth problem. they just need snails or krill. These fish are remarkalbly like dogs ( to me) in the way they come running when they hear your voice and change color. they often let you know when things are wrong with the tank. My lfs has a kind of puffer that doesn't get larger then an eraser on a #2 penc. they are tiny and can be kept in a 1.5 g tank. Your wife would fall in love with a puffer.
