theaquaticlife is looking at reefs
Default Re: OMG, I'm excited!!

BIGGER is better! I had a chance to get the Charles & Limeys tank, I would have loved to make that tank into a show piece, however I had vehicle problems the week I was going over there and somebody from the LFS beat me to it. The guy they had doing it before that told them that aipstasia anemones actually look quite beautiful when they over take the aquarium! Poor mans fish eating coral I suppose. Plus had regular flourescent single bulb and a string of blue lights for lighting... I'm serious it was one of those plastic tube lights with some blue bulbs in it? I know the guy and wonder what the other tanks he takes care of looks like... its amazing some of the stuff I have seen and corrected

I want to set up some more tanks in public places, I enjoy doing the ones that lots of people get to see. Once the club is up and going we should contact henson robinson zoo and see if they bought equipment and supplies if club could donate labor to make a reef display. I would totally donate some work on a tank for the public... that would be something to discuss, I dont know if that would be a project people would be interested but a plaque by the thing with SDIRB on it would be cool.
