I noticed that after using Purple Up (yes I used it - before finding this fountain of knowledge I did lots of dumb stuff to the tank!!) and it produced a diatom bloom for a while....
Try a substantial water change and give the new cuc a chance to work... you may have put your tank into a new cycle by changing lights etc....
