Default Re: cycling question

ok your salinty or SG is on the high side, it should be around 1.025 so it has increased due to water evaporation. i would not do water change yet! just add some fresh ro/di water to dilute it. we change water to help maintain ammonia and you have not spiked yet. the ammonia of 8 was probably a soft cycle. sometimes this happens it is best to wait for a hard cycle before you start adding fish and such. if you are still reading some no2 and no3 they will increase the ammonia and you will eventually have a hard cycle. have you added all your rock and sand yet? sometime more rock and live sand after a soft cycle will cause you to hard cycle a little sooner.
