Yeah, buy a completely different skimmer. In my opinion, and from everything that i have read/heard, these things are the bottom of the line. I have a 100 model on my 55gal and it has never produced anything i would consider skimmate. The better skimmers on the market are the Euro-reef and ASM, expensive but efficient.

But if you can't afford these, like me, and are stuck with what you got, you could always try a mesh mod on the impeller. I've never done it but have seen some forums where people swear by it. Also, make sure that the intake is submerged at least 2in or again nothing will happen. Also, make sure there are no air pockets on the arc of the tube that leads the pump to the cylinder behind the tank. Adjust it so til they go away, and open the valve as much as possible before it comes back. You could try to get an air pump and a wood stone and drop it in the skimmer itself. Again never tried it but it would increase the amount of bubbles in the skimmer body. Good Luck
