Make sure you change the carbon on a frequent basis, if you use it. It can trap detrius and cause some really nasty nitrate problems. Also get a really good grade of carbon; some of the cheaper brands contain phosphates and your back to your old problem.
Carbon has a habit of taking out the good with the bad as well. Watch your water parameters carefully when you introduce it to your system. LOL |
