Default peppermint shrimp molting

So last night I was watching my tank after the lights had gone off and I noticed one of my peppermint shrimp sitting on a rock and looking more translucent than normal. All of the sudden the top of its back split open and it popped out of its shell in front of me! I have seen the leftover molts in my tank before, but I had never witnessed it actually happening! I was supprised by how apparently effortlessly the shrimp left its old shell. After it did it kinda did a "shrimp backstroke" and darted behind one of the rocks; I assume to find some protection as it regenerated its exoskeleton. Has anyone else here witnessed this amazing little shrimp feat?
