A general rule of thumb for starfish, the thicker the arms the more predatory the starfish. A lot of arms will also indicate a predatory starfish. I am sure there are exceptions to this rule somewhere, but for the reef tank it usually works. I would keep an eye on it for while. (If you can find it again
