Like Debra said a picture would help. As far as the bristle worms goes, as long as they don't get real big they usually are not a problem. I have a bunch in mine as a long as they stay small they are good detritus eaters. They are a couple species that are known to nibble on coral. If it turns out you have one of those they can be removed with a bristle worm trap or other various methods.
