More is not necessarily better. The protein skimmer is the most important piece of equipment. Next, is the refugium. If everything is balanced then there's very little else you need. Additional equipment means additional maintanannce. In other words, if you have a cannister filter, you have to be consciencious to clean it regularly or it can generate nutrients and cause algae problems. |
