Default Re: mixing puffers

Ok here is my 2 cents on puffers in the wild and in the tank. Diving for 20 years now, I have seen more puffers than I could possibly count. Most puffers especially the big boys (and girls) are solo only to come together for an occasional singles night at the local fish bar. I have seen a few, usually smaller puffers or boxfish, in closer quarters with each other but really in the wild they are very spread out. So when you think about a tank it seems like a lot to ask them to share the space.

But I have no doubt that you can find similar fish able to share a sizable tank just fine. I know, way back, I had a great brackish water tank that held 6 green spotted puffers that never fought with each other at all (now the poor archer fish and scats that shared the tank with them may have had another thing to say but it was a fun tank).

Good luck!

Cheers,
E
