Not only are corals harmed from lower salinities, inverts and other small critters (pods, stars, etc...) are also. Since LR contains many types of critters in it, I would keep the salinity more closer to reef levels, maybe a touch lower like 1.024. FO tanks can be lower since they don't have any critters in it.
