I would call the LFS he got it from and see if they remember, because if it is a pest, you do not want it, they are fine if you have a FOWLR tank, but if you have a reef, they will do some damage to your corals. I wish I knew what it was, but I just converted my FOWLR to a reef tank, I have to learn more about the species myself. check out my photos, leave a comment (good/bad) just would like someones opinion, thanks. good luck
