Default adjusting corals to new lighting

hey everyone...my tank is doing great, i posted pics in another thread, its 180 gallons and right now i have 3 150 watt 13k mh, with 4 96 watt dual actnics p.c. i was happy with the light as i had great growth, but was somewhat limited in the placements of corals..luckily i have been able to get the same light i have but with 3 250 watt 13k mh bulbs from a friend who wants to do a swap, im giving him 200 bucks, he sells corals and was willing to give up his light since we are friends, both lights are about 6 months old, however the mh bulbs are approx. 1 month old...my question is how should i set my lighting schedule...normally i have the halides on for 8 hours a day...should i start off only 3 hours a day for a week, then go up an hour every week?...or can i just do it daily?...i know there is not exact answer i just dont want to go to work and have my corals all dead because of them not being adjusted properly...thanks in advance..
