Re: Suggested brand and type of Test kit. My LFS sells API, and they use that to test as well, so far so good. I might be geeky, but I'll test my water, take a sample in, and ask them to test it. So far, we're getting the same results. It's nice to know my testing is similar to someone else. I chose API, because that's what my LFS uses. I am so comfy with the service I've received from them.
I know many of you have had issues with your LFS, but, mine won't sell me something to make a sale. They are looking for lifelong customers, who'll come back and be repeat customers. They will suggest other options. Perhaps it's the small town mentality. We're only about 30k here. Also, they are cheaper than the big city stores, and competitively priced to the internet, although, a little more expensive, not that much, and if you want something now, they do it.
