A 10 gal fuge is plenty for a 29 dt.
You can do a deep sand bed (atleast 4") and keep some really cool macro algae (most folks use chaetimorpha). You can go to the glass shop and have them cut you some baffles (have them polish the edges so you don't cut yourself !) to separate your return section and fuge. Buy a tube of aquarium silacone and let cure for 24 hours after applying.
