Lol well your LFS was , as many are guilty of doing, lying to you. Damsels are very aggressive especially when they are the first fish added to a tank. Well, I should say most. The green Chromis that you have is not aggressive and will do well with other tank mates. The blue devil damsel is just that, a blue devil. They are notoriously mean and territorial. The sturring of that sand is nothing to be worried of, probably just looking for food. They do that.
