If I were you, I'd do the best I could with what I have, otherwise any new live rock you add to your tank will cycle again and probably give you another algae bloom.
Have you tried the 'ruins' cave look? You could put two lr pieces in the sand straight up and down and put another flat piece over those two, makes a cave that imo looks like underwater ruins... just an idea.
