Plastic? If you mean acrylic then be careful. Acrylic and glass expand differently and you could potentially break your sump. This generally happens when people wedge the acrylic between the glass (i.e don't give it room to expand). So if you give the acrylic space on each side you should be ok. Use the silicone to hold the baffles in place not the baffles themselves.
