Hi,

I bought a beautiful white pink tip haitian anemone at LFS and after about 3 weeks it began turning brown/tan in color, why is this anb is there something that I need to supplement to return it to its original color? TIA

Ive had my 55g reef for about 2 yrs now, all is stable and within normal parameters. Prior to that 40g reef for 2 yrs...

Its original color was probably Brown, what type of lighting do you have? Some anemones are bleached white to make them appealing to you or your LFS.

The brown tentacles is a sign that it is healthy. When the tentacles are white, they have either been bleached white or the anemone isn't very healthy. Either way, white is bad and brown is good.

I have T5 HO x 4 teks. he sits at the top near the surface. Bleach? really? how do they do that??

Your lights are just fine for the anemone. Unfortunately, there are several different types of corals that may have artificial colors while they are in fish stores. Unfortunately, in the long term they either die from the process or return back to their original color. Either way, it should never be done. I did a (very) quick search for you and found a couple articles that may be of some interest to you and anyone else that wants to read up on artificially dyed/bleached corals.
