| i recently (two days ago) purchased this anemone (i think its a bubble tipped, please comfirm?): http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/4...ture074qf4.jpg the pet store guy said it was well as it dug in to the substrate rather quickly. i got it home, acclimated it, and placed it in the tank. now it seems to be sluggish and isn't very responsive. also, it seems half way closed (hard to tell from the picture) in the front. i also have two true percula clowns which are still juveniles. they seem to just stay at the top of the tank (at the water level) and won't really approach it. do they not know what it is? are they frightened? stressed? tank set up: 10gallon nano reef tank CaribSea 20 lb live sand 12 pounds live rock heater, of course (keeps at 78deg F) 96 watt power compact 50/50 actinic/10,000K various coral frags (seem well and open) two true percula clowns (only about an inch long). one blue tipped damsel (not aggressive towards the clowns) the sea anemone, of course and clean up crew consisting of various snails/hermits any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| i think hes doing ok now. hes more full and open. water params seem to be ok, pH never fluctuates, temps holding at about 78degF. i did a 20% water change (i always use RO water for changes) to lower nitrates (if there were any) to reduce any stress he might be getting. salinitys around 1.023. Also he seems to be slowly spitting up...well...sand. i made the mistake of putting him in there with my old sebae who was around 4 inches long and seemed to like kicking up sand mountains, so maybe its simply spitting up what it was choking on. also, do anemones tend to close//shrivel up after you turn out the light for the night time much like my corals? anyway i'm still relatively new to the hobby (9 years freshwater experience, few months of marine), yet have done quite a bit of research so i think i've got a slight hang of it now. i can safely say i've only lost one blue legged hermit crab in my saltwater endeavors. |

| ah ok. inverts with no brains seems to have minds of their own. thanks a lot tho. i'll continue to monitor him, he seems to be doing well now.

| I would be surprised if he did, for some reason, they just don't seem to like that kind of anenome, then again I have seen it happen, just not very often, but everything you said about its behavior is very normal. |
