eh i bought an anemone about a week or two ago, at first i thought it wasn't very healthy and i even thought it would die. it likes to shrivel up, half way close up, etc, regardless of if the lights on (i use a pc 96watt). ironically, when i turn the light off, he closes/shrivels up, then, later that night, he opens up in a beautiful display of his tentacles. i wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as your water params are within acceptable ranges and your anemones foot wasn't damaged and it at least anchors to something (be it a rock, substrate, or even the glass), he should be just fine.

talk about irony. sorry to hear that. i had similar experience when i lost two ocellaris for reasons unknown to me. just don't give up on anemones completely and realize we're messing with nature here, and its certainly no small task to damn near perfectly replicate their natural environment. what kind of lighting do you use?

Sebae are harder to keep then other anemones! They need stronger lights then PC's I lost 2 of them because of that. Sorry I did not see your post sooner. They also need to eat were you feeding him any kind of meaty food? Somethimes you can keep one with PC's if you feed them but, it is the luck of the draw kind of thing.

i don't think you need MH/T5/HQ for sebae. i use a 96watt powercompact and mines doing quite well. i think as long as its got a good 5watts per gallon it'll be just fine. i also do not feed it as anemones have a sort of symbiosis with algae inside them...
