| clown didn't make it.... The anemone is doing great though. That is the second clown I've lost, and there are seven other fish in the tank that are also doing well, none of which are aggressive. Any thoughts on this? |
| ||||
| New clown would mean a whole new relationship between clown and anemone. You may be getting close to your maximum bio load with 7 fish what kind do you have? |
| ||||
| I have a small yellow tang, a coral beauty angel, a scooter blenny, a lawnmower blenny, a yellow tail damsel, a three stripe damsel, and a pixy hawkfish. |
| ||||
| perhaps the dasmels ar0e becoming too aggressive toward the clown.

| Most of my fish craziness happens at night. Have you ever seen them then. What kind of tests are you using? |
| ||||
| how are you acclimating the clown?

| testing for everything in the master reef kit, calcium, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, and salinity....all checked out good...temp is 77-78...I drip acclimated the clown for 2 and a half hours |

| You have some nice fish, and these guys have given you a couple of possibilities to think about. That tang is going to need more room and those other fish are going to be growing, as well. No one is going to have room to fart in that tank and it will probably lead to aggression and death. But you also should be QTing before added a new fish into the system. Just because the clown was hosting the anemone, does not mean that it couldn't also have had a parasite. When that clown died, it could have released all sorts of goodies into that tank. |

| I have no luck with clown fish. I have purchased four of them and only one is still hanging in there. First two that I had hosted with the anemone then it moved on them and they never found it again. The second set of fish I purchased from a different store and one died the first night and the other one has not found the anemone as of yet. I thought clowns were suppose to make you smile not cry. Hope you have better luck with them than I do. Nina
