Default Clown problem

I recently purchased a percula clown and the bubble tip anemone that the fish was with at the pet store. At the store the fish stayed with the anemone, but now the clown doesn't seem to want to be around it. The clown spends most of its time around the power heads in the tank. Does it take them longer than most fish to get used to their new surroundings? Is there anything I can do?

clown didn't make it.... The anemone is doing great though. That is the second clown I've lost, and there are seven other fish in the tank that are also doing well, none of which are aggressive. Any thoughts on this?

New clown would mean a whole new relationship between clown and anemone. You may be getting close to your maximum bio load with 7 fish what kind do you have?

Most of my fish craziness happens at night. Have you ever seen them then. What kind of tests are you using?

Sometimes when first introduced, the animal will go into hiding for awhile, but usually they come out.

You have some nice fish, and these guys have given you a couple of possibilities to think about. That tang is going to need more room and those other fish are going to be growing, as well. No one is going to have room to fart in that tank and it will probably lead to aggression and death. But you also should be QTing before added a new fish into the system. Just because the clown was hosting the anemone, does not mean that it couldn't also have had a parasite. When that clown died, it could have released all sorts of goodies into that tank.

I have no luck with clown fish. I have purchased four of them and only one is still hanging in there. First two that I had hosted with the anemone then it moved on them and they never found it again. The second set of fish I purchased from a different store and one died the first night and the other one has not found the anemone as of yet. I thought clowns were suppose to make you smile not cry. Hope you have better luck with them than I do.
