| Is this a BTA? it doesnt really have any bubbles on the tips, I read that they are two different types of BTAs, The ones from the deeper waters that are usually darker in color & the tenichal things are more long and skinny. (which mine is with pink tips, purple body & green mouth) then theres the BTAs that come from the more shallow waters that have the bubble tips with lighter colors. Anyhow here is a pic of mine after about 12 hours in the tank. Its found a nice little hole for its foot, I HOPE it stays there lol. 10000k & with true blue actinics (camera phone) ![]() just actinics ![]() my pair of perculas havent hosted it yet but appear to be interested, my peppermint shrimp has not left its side, it has been hanging around & under it all day. Sorry bout the dirty glass Its from acclimating the Anemone lastnight Ive been lazy and havent wiped it off yet.

| about the same as it does in the pic, Color apperance hasnt changed any, Didnt have the bubbles there either, I fed it a piece of krill on day one, I will try and feed it a piece of silverside tonight. it crawled in between the two rocks its on lastnight about lights out time, then this morn when lights came back on it came out again. I think the clowns are happy in there patch of algae bed lol they wouldprolly switch up if I removed the rock the host/sleep on.. if it makes any difference this was a tank bred BTA.

| I think it does make a difference for tank bred "anything." They tend to be easier to acclimate to a domesticated environment. Your BTA sounds like it's happy. They like to climb into crevices to hide if disturbed. Your clowns will probably adapt in time. Patience is the key. I only feed my BTA once a week. My clowns often will feed it, especially the dominant female. |

| little update the female clown stared hosting today and never left, The male still is in and out of the bta. The female how ever is trying to swim into its mouth, well its more like bull doze her way in, I guess if she gets ate she was asking for it. I read that the clown will swim in and out of the BTA's mouth I figured the mouth would be open though lol I will keep this updated here as to what happens.

| me either thats what it was sold to me as. Someone on another forum said it looked like there LTA which ever it is the clowns love it. It seems to be happy, I dropped a piece of silverside over it today it quickly caught it and took it to its mouth. Its a good size I was thinking 5~6" but now I would say 7~8" small dinner plate when fully spread out, its tips can sweep out a good 5~6" at times!

| Hard to say about the species. You have to look at the column and how the tentacles are arranged. Not all BTA's will show the "bubbles" at the end of the tentacles. Mine rarely displays its bubbles. Often the clowns will feed their anemone. At feeding time, my clowns will spit food near the oral tentacles. They also clean away the mucus and debris around the mouth after the anemone is done eating. |
