Icon14 Sleeping Perc Clown-- Too much??

My Perc clown has been sleeping... A LOT! A huge portion of the day, and the night too. Something wrong? Or do I just have a lazy fish.. I have had him for around a month, parameters are all good, no changes, he is active at feeding time, and only like I would say....3-4 hours of the day.. Any ideas??

Ok, just joking here but how much are you feeding and is it Turkey? you know turkey makes you sleep.....I would be a little concerned but I wouldn't know what to do, one thing would be when you feed soak the food in garlic, and also do you feed seaweed? my clowns love when I put seaweed in for my tangs.

What is the benefit of soaking it in garlic? Also--I have not tried seaweed--I will have to do that! Thanks for the response!

What do they look like asleep because it seems that my clowns are always awake. When I turn the lights on in th moring they are the only ones moving around right away.

Narcalepsy?
That is strange.
But it swims fine when feeding?
No heavy respiration?
Bloating?

He swims great when feeding, and the times that he is awake, would NEVER guess that he has a (insert weird name that I will make up for this problem) syndrome! He breaths completely normal! Not bloated at all, just randomly sleeps, hahaha! But really I have no idea what is wrong with him.

Today for a total of 5 hours...in increments of hours, he has been up.. never several hours in a row..like a normal fish.

My clown never sleeps either. No matter what time i break out the flashlight he is swimming around. I have had him for almost 2 months and have never seen him sleeping, however as soon as i set the sand bed up in my tank i saw where he moved it to his liking, it is weird to me but he is happy, healthy, and eats a crap load so I am not to worried.

Stace, if he has been doing this since day 1, it might be the way this fish is. Normally, we see clownfish swimming all over the place all day. This one might march to the beat of a different drum.

Sorry---In the sand...
If it was the anem (which I don't have) I wouldn't think too much about it... but it's the sand..

ok, well if it "sleeps" in the same spot in the sand it may be trying to host the sand. "like the sand being the anemone"

Also, imho, I'd quarantine him to be safe and treat him with meds for internal parasites. It could be that that's just how he is but, I wouldn't want to assume that. If he's eating well, then goes and rests all day, I'd bet he's got some kind of disease like internal parasites. Becky, your thoughts on this theory?
