i am a new reef addict. Can anyone tell me any info that would b helpful for :
fish i want (Tang, triggerfish, damsels, clownfish, angelfish, colorful shrimp, tank cleaners, or any other species that would work well with the ones listed above anything to do with live rock, reefs, tubeworms, or (any creature that i may need to look into)
I absolutely have to have tang for sure but i will be starting with the live rock and a damsel in a 10 gal and then eventually get at least a 100 gal or whatever is necessary to meet the needs of my inhabitants. Which when i decide what i have to have and what i don't have to have in the means of creatures and reef i will know more
Right now i am just looking for advice from people who know

My advise, stay away from damsels and inform yourself as to what fish can cohabitate....personally, I have a blue hippo, two clowns, one sailfin tang and they all seem to get along...make sure you cycle your tank before you invest in any expensive fish and/or coral...better to wait, trust me.Posted 02-05-2009 at 10:59 AM by MarioCampos

If you must get a Damsel fish for cycling purpose, avoid getting the strip (black and white) damsel. These fishes are too aggressive for future livestock. Use the Green Chromis instead. These are within the Damsel family and just as hardy. Best of all...once your tank is fully cycle, you dont have to spend hours trying to catch these fishes since they are already a peaceful community fish themselves! If you're planning on getting a Tang, just remember they are extremely aggressive towards their own kind. For the Yellow Tang, you can get away with this by introducing both of them to your aquarium at the same time.Posted 11-14-2009 at 08:49 PM by AlkalineAddict
