My occilerus clown and BTA have been in my 29 gal tank together now for 4 months. Clownfish doesn't go near the BTA. Any ideas on how to tempt it?!

do i need a protean skimmer for my 29 gallon reef tank? Ive had the tank for 8 months and just can't get the nitrates down to less than 20 ppm.
