Swarm of something?

Posted 04-07-2009 at 12:45 PM by ShawnJay

I have a 155 saltwater reef tank. Sailfin Tang, Power Blue Surgeon, Copperband, two black clowns, two naked clowns, 7 blue green chromis, two bangai cardinals, one purple dottyback, lawnmower blenney, and one neon cleaner fish. 4 fire shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp, lots of snails, and 4 emerald crabs.

I looked yesterday under a cave live rock and there appears to be a swarm of some microscopic something swimming madly around? What could this be?

New and needing some advice

Posted 04-05-2009 at 04:36 PM by russgary

I am new to the salt water world. i set up a tank and most is going well, levels of ammonia and nitrate are minmal and salinity looks good on a hydrometer. I visited a store and bought live rock and live sand, about three days later I am noticing a white cloudy substance sitting on the bottom next to a large rock where i buried a large piece of frozen brine, is this normal or the beggining of a problem?
